Devenir Goaltenders - Elite Goaltending Clinic

Devenir Goaltenders is an elite Goaltending Training Camp and partner of Calla Clinic to keep their athletes healthy. Devenir sends many of their athletes to Calla for routine visits with a focus on the benefits of BioStructural Therapy and how it aligns muscle tissue in goaltenders for better flexibility and strength training. These training methods have seen significant value in prepping their goaltenders for the NHL.

Adam Carlson - Washington Capitals

"Calla Clinic's BioStructural Therapy methods have really allowed me to out perform myself. When I sit down with a Calla practitioner, we discuss my micro and macro objectives before every appointment. The results have been off the charts! I can't imagine life without them."

Tim Jackman - Mighty Ducks

"I had the best season of my NHL career after my BioStructural Therapy sessions at Calla Clinic. I was able to get my center of gravity back. After having my hips adjusted and muscles realigned, my mobility improved a lot. The NHL is extremely competitive and you need every edge you can get."

Whether you're into Dance, Yoga, Pilates, Golf, Downhill Skiing, Biking, Running, Hockey, Baseball, Football, Soccer, or just a weekend warrior, here is what our athletes have to say...

Athlete, Dancer + Personal Trainer

I am an athlete, dancer and personal trainer, I use my body everyday for my life's work and hobbies. Because I put a lot of stress on my body, it's important to me to keep it healthy and on track.

I was referred to Erin over a year ago and went through the 10 treatments, I was very pleased with the results. I have had a lot of massage, and still do, but this was different. This was a "treatment" that looked at the structure of my body and not just massaging and releasing muscle tension.

I have referred a number of my clients to Erin to help them in areas that my strengthening, flexibility and mobility exercises were not reaching. I have watched how she has changed their body in ways I didn't imagine possible.

I think it is very important for people to go through a series of treatments to get your bone structure, musculature back in alignment. Then you'll be ready to hit the field, gym, bike or golf course hard!

Trained Olympic Athletes

I've had many Rolfing sessions with Erin and think the work is amazing!   As an Advanced Rolfer, Erin is extremely knowledgeable and skilled!    I was especially intrigued by the fact that she trained on Chinese Olympic athletes.   I figured if she's good enough to be allowed to work on the best athletes in the world, I'd certainly love for her to work on my body.    What a difference!    I had been having pain in my knee when I went running.   Erin quickly determined the problem and corrected it.   I've never had the pain since.   Doing the 10 series for my whole body, to get all structurally re-aligned, was probably the best thing I've physically ever done for myself.    Highly recommended!

Water + Snow Skier

I am 59 years old. I have always been active in sports and have accumulated a number of injuries from water skiing, snow skiing, snow shoeing, dirt bikes, roller blades, biking and all those things that people who go outside a lot do.  When I received an injury I went to conventional medicine which generally addresses injuries in the same way, drugs and physical therapy. I found these methods never let my body totally heal. To deal with the accumulated pain from all the injuries I learned to live with it by moving out of my body.  Following a car accident I went to an osteopath having tried all the other methods, drugs for the brain, drugs for the body, physical therapy and crying a lot.  The Osteopath did miracles for me but when he discovered how deep the injuries had gone he told me I needed to get Rolfed.  He recommended Erin Herdina.  I had complete confidence in her the minute I met her and after my first session I was able to move back into my body and actually feel alive again.  The body work that Erin does not only enhanced my physical well being but has given me confidence so I am not afraid to do things because of the possibility of getting injured.  This is what freedom really is.  Being integrated means that I am less susceptible to injury and in this has also spilled over to other areas of my life where I now have energy to experience new things.  It's given me confidence, resilience and persistence.  I have balance in movement and in orchestrating my life. I give thanks every day for the work Erin has done in allowing my body to heal itself.  Now instead of living a life outside of my physical body I can truly experience the joy of life everyday. Isn't that really what life is all about?

Mother of two boys and I want to keep up

I started seeing Erin many years ago after a couple miserable experiences with chiropractors. She was referred by a friend who had wonderful results so I thought BioStructural Therapy/Rolfing was worth trying. Wow, was it ever worth it!!! Erin has an exceptional way of listening to what your body needs. I've found this whether I was trying to gain better posture (why I'd originally started seeing her) to my shoulder pain that developed from years of working at a computer for 10+ hours a day and, most recently, helping me with a recent knee injury. Somehow I'd cranked on my knee and couldn't even walk. Erin was right there to make sure I had the structural support for it to heal. I literally do not know what I'd do without her. Probably be on pain medication! My husband has had amazing results with Erin too and we have referred countless friends and family to her. It's fun getting the random message or meeting up with a friend only to find out how much taller, slimmer, healthier and happy they are after working with Erin on whatever was trouble them. One of my friends reported he thought it was perfectly normal that he walked on only the balls of his feet and that one leg was longer than the other, until he went to Erin and now he shows off how he can walk straight. Kinda funny what we'll put up with. Now you know, better health is only a phone call away. Go see her!

Ballerina + Ballroom Dancer

I have been dancing most of my life, performing as a ballerina, modern dancer, and (currently) professional ballroom dancer. Despite attempting to take good care of my body, dancing has taken its toll anyway. In the 2 years prior to seeing Erin last summer, I had torn at least 4 major muscles in various locations on my left side, and had chronic foot/leg/shoulder pain. After one year with Erin, not only am I pain free, but:

  • I have my arches back (after almost 2 decades)
  • My lower legs are no longer severely bent
  • The tendons in my feet are no longer contorted due to point shoes and high heels
  • My left side no longer gets injure easily, after realigning my pelvis and rib cage
  • I am able to take a fuller breath than I have since my childhood
  • Carpel tunnel is gone from my wrists
  • Internal issues, such as bad indigestion and chronic mid-back pain, have resolved
  • My endurance, balance, flexibility, and speed have all improved as my body alignment improves. My muscles no longer have to work solely to hold my body together, and are free to actually assist me to dance!

I have recommended many students to Erin for various postural and movement problems, and they have also benefited greatly from her sessions. My students' professions range from consultants to engineers, so the benefits of Rolfing are certainly not limited to athletes, and it can definitely help those with chronic pain.

I also need to mention that in addition to dance and warm-ups, I also do quite a bit of Pilates and have regularly seen excellent massage therapists, chiropractors, and dance/sports physical therapists. However, none of them in combination could do what Erin did for me. I still see a massage therapist, but now I do it to keep my muscles in good condition and not to relieve the severe pain that use to exist. If you have a great professional in one of those fields you already work with, but still need more help, I highly recommend adding Rolfing with Erin to your schedule. Worth every penny.

Men's Hockey + Water Skier

I'm 46 and I'm very active having played hockey all my life. The 2009 hockey season was miserable. I missed nearly half the season from nagging injuries and when I was playing I was playing hurt and was actually planning on hanging up the skates. I have done physical therapy, massage, you name it, I thought I was out of options. My wife recommended that I go see Erin after she was recommended to go see her by another friend.

My situation was that I was in a lot pain every morning, feeling stiff for the first 30 minutes of everyday after waking up. Well, those days are over!!! In the 2010 hockey season I played in ever game and I looked forward to playing after I had completed my 10 sessions with Erin. I'm looking forward to playing for many more seasons. Erin realigned the muscles in my body that have been out of alignment for over 32 years. My body actually physically looks different. I can tell and my wife can tell, I'm actually taller. I had an ACL/MCL surgery in 1994. Years after the surgery my knee that I had the procedure performed on began to look increasingly different from my other knee as the years passed. I just thought it was because the surgery deformed my knee. After a few sessions with Erin, I could not tell the difference between my right knee and my left knee, not to mention how more flexible it was. I have since passed her name on to 20 or so people and they have all had great results from Professional golfers, Moms and Dads, anyone who's in pain. I'm truly blown away by her ability to acutely understand my body, while continuing to remind me of old injuries that I had completely forgot about. She realigned my hips, raised a fallen arch, realigned a separated rotater cuff that I didn't even know was separated. I just know I have full range of motion of a shoulder for the first time in 10 years.

Chronic Neck Pain For A Full 1 Year—Gone

I followed the recommendation of a friend who has been seeing her for years.  Having had many forms of body work  over the years, I wasn't anticipating quite the experience I had.  I have had chronic pain in my neck for nearly a year.  No massage therapist or PT has been able to shake it loose.  As we started the treatment, Erin examined the balance in my body and I was able to visually see the way my body's structure had overcompensated for the pain I was experiencing.

After an hour of her work, I got up off of her table and every nerve ending in my body was firing.  The pain in my neck was largely gone...and more importantly, when I stood in front of the mirror and took an honest evaluation of my entire structure, the imbalances I had seen were back to their normal state.

Erin is a remarkable understanding of the body and the connections between nerves, muscle, tendons and bone.  She works systemically to balance the body to it's healthiest state.  She doesn't claim she'll work "magic" on your body, she just does!

I'm experienced at receiving all types of both traditional and nontraditional remedies for pain over the years and I would recommend Erin to anyone who suffers from pain and discomfort.  She provided quick relief from pain that has daunted me for some time.  I can't wait to go back!
